An absolutely stunning pair of earrings. Large oval faceted synthetic sapphires are claw set into buttery 18ct Egyptian gold.
These stones are often confused for Alexandrite because of their colour change effect. But these stones are sapphire and man made, grown by the verneuil flame fusion method.
The colour change in these stones is - in daylight they are a bluish purple and in incandescent light they are a pinkish purple. very hard to photograph. The stones are vivid and lively and very eye-catching.
