Scarab beetles had great symbolism in ancient Egypt - the represented rebirth, resurrection and the sun. Worn for protection and good luck. Often created and worn to mark a significant moment in life.
Gold-filled - a thick layer of real gold is mechanically bonded to a base metal core, like brass, through heat and pressure. For a piece to be legally gold-filled, at least 5% of its total weight must be real gold. This creates a durable and affordable alternative to solid gold that has the appearance of solid gold and will not tarnish easily, unlike gold-plated jewellery.
