An unusual piece made from 15ct gold and steel.
 
Designed by Abraham-Louis Berguet who was a renowned watchmaker. Dating from 1810 this key features an internal ratchet mechanism, allowing the watch to be wound in only one direction. This is still working.
 
Perfect to be worn as a pendant or charm from either the jump ring or through the top.

Testing as 14ct gold, but keys from this time were made from 15ct gold and steel.
 
The key is in great condition for its age some signs of wear. The jump ring on the side looks like a later addition and is not perfect. Happy to remove it, please get in touch.
